Gold is of paramount importance in Azeroth, and so are
Mounts. Mounts are the single most underestimated asset to help
characters level up in World or Warcraft. People don't realise
how important they are, some WoW strategy guides don't even
emphasse this!
The reason mounts are so important to the speed that you
level is because they allow you to do lots of things much much
quicker - such as going out to those farther regions. These
things would otherwise eat up your time and patience. So in
this WoW strategy guide I want to emphasise -
don't spend too much money around the levels of 30 and 40,
when you should be focusing on buying a mount - make sure you
put some aside for a good one.
Here are 10 excellent general WoW strategy guide tips that
will hold you in good stead through the game:
Prepare professions in advance, and keep those skills fresh!
Make sure you keep professions at a good skill range, otherwise
it is a waste and will later on come back to haunt you. make
sure you grab First Aid at around level 6 - and keep it fresh,
this skill is immensely valuable. Bandages are a life
saver.
When you level up make contacts - it's the ideal moment to
make friends in Azeroth. And to meet other helpful characters.
The game is easier when you're not alone - friends can team up
with you for quests, get you into guilds or even get you
discounts on items.
Red mobs attack on sight. So practise moving close to them
without attracting their attention, ad learn their aggro range.
Then you can use this skill to move close enough until one sees
you, then pick that one off, and repeat the tactic.
Hit From Afar
'Kiting' is an evil and excellent skill to learn - this
means staying just out of range of a monster but still being
able to kill it: with arrows or spells. A must-have skill for
mages. A level 16 Hunter can Kite a level 21 elite boss.
In cities, use the City Guards for directions! They are your
friends. This seems obvious, but it can be easy to get lost and
find yourself wasting time in the cities of Azeroth. When you
choose profession trade skills, choose two that compliment
eachother. Mining produces the raw materials needed for
Blacksmithing, for example. Doing this will save you so much
gold on materials throughout the game.
You don't have to folow the quest lines of your own race.
Feel free to go out and try all of them. This is a common
misunderstanding with new players in WoW.
The Num Lock key is your auto run. This should be obvious,
but you'd be surprised how many players forget to use their
auto run. Auto run is your best friend, though. During long
runs you can be checking your quest log, futzing with your
inventory, or chatting with friends. Use it!
If you are a Warlock or a Hunter, don't leave your pet on
aggresive all the time. Control your pet, and use it as a tool.
If it's left on aggresive all the time, it will draw more
monster attention than a group can handle, and will often only
lead to the group getting killed.
