Rogue Leveling Guide
This is part two of this Rogue Leveling Guide, for part go
to: WoW Rogue Guide (part
one)
It's the abilities of the
Rogue that makes them unique. In this Rogue leveling guide
I'll go over the Rogue abilities, explain the best
professions to follow, and how to find some of the best
Rogue gear - all important factors fo leveling your
Rogue.
The single most important ability for this Rogue leveling
guide is Stealth. Stealth is the most important Rogue ability,
allowing them to move around undetected. This is an excellent
ability to work on for solo play and also PvP play. With a
group Rogues use stealth to check out dungeons and use the Sap
ability to help control an enemy just before attack. Like all
Rogue abilities you can enhance this skill through your
talents, but also items you collect and enchantments.
Dual Wield, the combat skill Rogues can learn at level 10 is
a great ability for a Rogue, especially one that want to apply
poison and hit as many times as they can to do so.
Poisons are very important for Rogues who want to deal
maximum burst damage - the highest level possible by a
character in WoW. You can get the Poison ability at level 20 by
completing a Rogue-quest (see below). Poisons can cause more
damage or apply other effects like Slow. Poisoners should
search for the Bloodfang Armour - if you wear three pieces your
chance of applying Poisons increases by 5%.
Lockpicking is a great Rogue skill that should be developed,
as the extra loot and treasure you find in chests and behind
locked doors can be awesome, and often very valuable. It's
important to maintain a steady flow of Gold to consistently
level your Rogue without losing momentum. Choosing your Rogue's
professions is essential for this.
Rogue leveling guide to Professions
Skinning and Leatherworking are a good combination for a
Rogue, as it both provides you with decent income and also
crafted items that tend to be better than the ones you find
around at the same level.
Engineering and Mining is a good fun profession for the
Rogue, as it gives you some awesome equipment. But this combo
actually is very expensive, so not a great money-earner in the
long run.
Herbalism and Alchemy is probably the best combo for Gold
for a Rogue. It gives you plenty of potions and elixirs which
you can use or sell.
Weapons are extremely important for the Rogue, get skilled
in the sword as soon as possible. When you are starting out
your main attack will be with Sinister Strike, which needs a
weapon with decent damage, llike a sword. As soon as you can at
level 20, master Poisons. Make sure your blades are always
dripping with poison. Crippling pisons are my personal
favourite - they stop enemies from running and calling
friends.
Get yourself at least three pieces of the Bloodfang Armour
for the Poison bonus - this is some truly awesome Rogue Armour.
You'll find most of the pieces around Blackwing Lair, except
the headpiece which Onyxia drops in Onyxia's Lair, and the
legpiece which Ragnaros inthe Molten Core drops.
for the Poison ability at level 20, you must complete a few
Rogue-only quests. Horde Rogues get given the quest 'Deep
Cover' by Shenthul in Orgrimmer, and must travel to The Barrens
to find Taskmaster Fizzule who will give you another quest
called Mission Possible but not Probable. Alliance Rogues get
their Poison quest in Westfall from Agent Kearnen, it is the
'Klaven's Tower' quest. First visit Master Mathias in Stormwind
when you reach level 20 to get sent to Kearnen and get your
Poison quest.
That concludes this Rogue leveling guide. The WoW Guide
below includes a comprehensive Rogue leveling guide. I
