How to Start Mining by Race
The different races in WoW begin their mining in different
areas. It's a lot simpler for some than others. Here's a run
down on the first route to take when mining for each race:
Human mining leveling guide: Follow this route and you'll
come across at least two mines and mine 40 copper. From
Goldshire move East to Crystal Lake, and at the logging camp
turn South to the border of Duskwood and Elwyn Forest. Then
back North to Goldshire.
Dwarf and Gnome mining leveling guide: You are surrounded by
copper, just mine anywhere.
Night Elves mining leveling guide: You're going to follow a
figure of 8 around the region. Head to Darkshore, from
Auberdine head East to the cliffs. From there turn South,
keeping close to the cliffs, and at the entrance to Ashenvale
go West to the coast and then turn and return to Auberdine.
From there head East again, but at the cliffs this time turn to
the Northand keep with the cliffs along the coast back South to
Auberdine again. You should have about 50 Copper.
Troll and Orc mining leveling guide: Run the entire circuit
of Durotar - it's the easiest way. Do it a few times and you'll
grab a good 40 Copper.
Undead mining leveling guide: Starting in DeathKnell, at the
entrance, go South along the cliffs all the way up to Bulwark.
Next, go North to Scarlet monastry keeping close to the cliffs
the whole time. At the coast turn West, and curve South down to
Agamand Mills. Then walk over the hills back to DeathKnell, the
whole mining trip should bring you a good 40 copper.
Tauren mining leveling guide: At Mulgore get to the cliffs
and walk all around them - it's easy to find 50 copper this
way.
A couple of handy tips for you to finish up. For any
character, get some cheap gloves and have them enchanted with
+5 mining for a couple of gold. For the engineers amongst you,
make yourself a good Goblin Mining Helmet, which'll also give
you +5 mining skill.
This will all get you off to a flying start in your mining
profession. For a full and complete guide to mining leveling,
