Druid Leveling Guide

This is part two of this Druid leveling guide, for part one go to: WoW Druid Guide

>>Please note: this is a brief introductory Druid leveling guide. For a comprehensive, in-game WoW guide that includes a complete Druid leveling guide, check out: The Ultimate Druid Leveling Guide

Click Here for the Ultimate World of Warcraft Guide! The most useful form for the Druid to have is the Bear form for it's massive survivability. In bear form you have great stamina and health and plate-mail level armour. You need to follow a sequence of Druid-only quests through the levels to get this ability. This section of the Druid Leveling guide gives a run down of what you have to do. First for Alliance, then Horde Druids.

Alliance Bear Quests

You have to be level 10. Go to Mathrengyl Bearwalker at Cenarion Enclave in Darnassus.

Bearwalker is your quest trainer - he'll teach you Teleport: Moonglade (beginning your Balance skills). Use the spell to get to Moonglade, enter the building opposite you and go upstairs. You'll see a chap called Dendrite Starblaze, who will send you to talk to the Bear Spirit.

The Bear Spirit is North West of Moonglade, find it, have a chat, then return to Dendrite. Next, return to Bearwalker again in Darnassus.

Your next quest is to activate a stone in a cave in Darkshore. A very tough Moonkin called Lunaclaw will appear when you do, so beef yourself up before you activate it. It's best to entangle Lunaclaw the moment he appears. Then hit him with all you've got from afar. When you have won, speak with Lunaclaw's spirit and return to Bearwalker, who will give you the Feral Combat tab and teach you Bear form!

Horde Bear Quests

For a Horde Druid, it's a trainer called Turak Runetotem at Elder Rise in Thunder Bluff who starts you off on the Bear quests. After you have talked to the Bear Spirit you need to take the flight Path back to Runetotem.

To find the stone to activate to fight Lunaclaw, follow the road from Mulgore to The Barrens. In the Barrens, you'll see a hut South of the road. The stone is behind a rock behind that hut. Again, don't forget to beef up with Thorns and Mark of the Wild before you activate it.

As you level with your Druid, you develop the other shape shifting abilities. Here is a Druid leveling guide to the forms and levels you get them at:

  • Level 10: Bear form (increased armour, powerful fighter)
  • Level 16: Aquatic form - sea lion (can breath under water and increase swim speed 50%)
  • Level 20: Cat form (can stealth and increased melee damage)
  • Level 30: Travel form - Cheetah (run speed increases 40% outdoors)
  • Level 40: Dire Bear form (massive increase to armour and hit points)
  • Level 68: Flight Form - Storm Crow (Druid can fly in warm weather, movement +60%)
  • Level 70: Swift Flight Form (movement speed +280%)
  • Level 77: Can fly in cold weather
  • Balance Talent 31 points: Moonkin Form (Increased spellcasting +5% critical chance. Can cast Balance spells only)
